Since the Fall of 2008, I've mapped golf courses from time to time for GolfBuddy USA, manufacturer of the finest handheld Golf GPS unit on the market. For me, it's the perfect diversion. Extended periods of time spent on golf courses I might otherwise never see (Like Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, Alabama, pictured above), a little travel to break the day to day routine, and the opportunity to meet some great folks.
I also had the privilege of meeting Harry Jung, founder and CEO of GolfBuddy, during Masters Week. My great friend, legendary golf rep Tom Brown, invited Harry, me, and Steve Claude, buyer for Edwin Watts Golf Stores to join him for golf at Atlanta Country Club on Sunday and for the Monday practice round in Augusta. Believe me, a good time was had by all. And what, you ask, does this have to do with WebMulligans.com? Nothing! It's just an experience I wanted to share.

Since founding Laurelwood Productions almost 20 years ago, Dave Sansom has delivered quality, professional marketing media services for businesses of all kinds. Over the past 10 years, most of the work done by Laurelwood Productions has been created specifically for internet-based applications, earning the company a reputation as an industry leader in the production and delivery of web media. With the creation of WebMulligans.com, Sansom is shifting focus to an industry for which he has a true passion.
Having spent more than 20 years producing audio programming of all kinds, designing web sites and building Flash applications, Sansom decided in the Spring of 2009 to offer that expertise exclusively to the golf industry. In Sansom's words, "Golf is, I believe, an industry that can benefit more than almost any other from delivering a strong, clear message via the internet."
"Since 1989," says Sansom, "when I left my position as General Manager of Atlanta-based Exhibit Design firm, IDEAS, Inc., I've had the luxury of doing work that I genuinely love. By shifting my creative efforts to the golf industry I'm doubly blessed by doing the work I love in an industry I enjoy more than any other."
Prior to my 7-year stint in the exhibit business I was involved in the music industry as a performer and recording artist, and Laurelwood Productions was my opportunity to return to my love… audio recording.
Initially, I recorded on-hold messages for small businesses and produced specialty audio programming for corporate events in Atlanta. In time, my connections in the hospitality and trade show industry landed me an opportunity to provide "directional messages" for The National Cable Television Association's annual trade show. Taking the show manager's directive and expanding on it, I not only provided directional messages and show information on behalf of show management, but also sold advertising to exhibitors, which paid for the service… something that was very much appreciated by show management.
My experience with NCTA led to more trade shows and, eventually, to an association with American Exhibition Services, a Birmingham, Alabama company that provides an array of marketing services for trade shows nationwide. Over the years, we provided Audio Billboard (the name I gave the service) for over 230 major trade shows, coast to coast. In 1997, I ended the relationship with AES and essentially set Audio Billboard aside, though I still provide these services for The World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin each year.
About the time I stopped production of Audio Billboard, I designed my first web site. That first site led to another, and another… and then with the help of my nephew, founder of CartoonSmart and a highly regarded FLASH guru, I began my adventures in FLASH design. Combining these new skills with over 20 years of professional audio production experience, my specialty has become the production and delivery of a wide variety of marketing media over the web.

For golf businesses that do not have web sites, we offer a genuinely custom solution to meet the client's specific needs. For golf businesses that already have web sites, we offer a variety of multimedia enhancements that can cost-effectively refresh their web sites, giving new power to their message. From online golf course tours to professional voiceovers for web pages to Flash banners to draw attention to products and services, we bring the "multi" to a company's multi-media web presence.
My high regard for the golf industry and for the men and women who make their living in it is the motivation for my creation of WebMulligans.com. Should you honor me with the opportunity to provide services for your company, you can be certain I will give your project the attention and respect that it deserves.
